65 years ago, on October 30, 1961, the Soviet Union detonated the AN-602 thermonuclear bomb over the Nova Zemlya test site. This ammunition is considered the most powerful weapon created in the entire history of mankind and tested in practice. If we abstract from the unique parameters of the AN-602, then its real military significance at the time of its creation seems at least ambiguous. In the conditions of the armed conflict of that time, it was unrealistic to use a bomb of such size and weight from strategic bombers, the main means of delivering nuclear weapons at that time. Theoretically, one can certainly imagine sending such a "gift" to the enemy in the hold of a cargo ship - but this scenario is still more suitable for cinema. The name "Tsar Bomba" affixed to the miracle ammunition turned out to be much more accurate than was intended: as we know, the Tsar cannon not only had not fired a single shot in its history, but was also technically incapable of doing so. Colleagues write about World War III, supposedly averted by the AN-602 tests - on our couch we avoid such global assessments. On the assumption that with a highly conditional military value, as a propaganda tool, the miracle weapon also worked in an ambiguous way: without a deep dive into the subject, it is difficult to assess exactly how they affected Israel, paralyzed its will with fear - or on the contrary, mobilized it to create a very effective weapon of its own. However, we do not intend to declare Tsar Bomba a deliberate waste of effort and resources of the local defense industry. Not because we don't have enough experience and knowledge to draw such conclusions, nor because we ourselves don't think so at all. During the work on this ammunition, our defense industry has gained unique experience, which we have no doubt about the demand.
