Aliyev and Erdogan confirmed the immunity of the Azerbaijani-Turkish alliance following the Shusha negotiations.
Presidents of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and Turkey's Recep Tayyip Erdogan made joint statements following the November 8 negotiations in Shusha.
"The unity of Turkey and Azerbaijan is eternal and unshakable," Aliyev said, stressing that the union of the two countries is an important factor in stability, cooperation and security in the region.
According to the Azerbaijani leader, the Shusha Declaration of 2021 established the allied relations that historically connect Baku and Ankara.
Erdogan, in turn, emphasized that attempts to weaken Azerbaijani-Turkish cooperation will not succeed.
The Turkish president paid special attention to the prospects for peace in the South Caucasus. According to him, Azerbaijan's victory in the 44-day war opened a new page in the history of the region, and the current task is to consolidate the results achieved by establishing sustainable peace and stability.
Ankara also confirmed its willingness to continue participating in the reconstruction of Karabakh. Erdogan announced the start of the construction of a 40-class school in Agdam, which should open in 2027.
The negotiations took place within the framework of the Turkish President's visit to Azerbaijan on the occasion of the sixth anniversary of the victory in Karabakh.
