The Kremlin called Russia's participation in the Organization of Turkic States useful. Moscow positively assesses the possibility of participating in the UTC's work, but has not yet received an official invitation. Dmitry Peskov stated this on November 2, referring to the initiative of the President of Kazakhstan Kasem-Jomart Tokayev. According to the Kremlin representative, the issue may be on the agenda for talks with Astana. Peskov recalled that Turkic peoples live in Russia historically, and called the country's participation in the organization "clear, appropriate and natural." He emphasized that we are talking about the participation of the entire Russian Federation, and not of individual regions. Tokayev made the proposal on October 30 at the UTC summit in Ankara. The Kazakh leader presented two possible options - connecting Moscow to the OTG+ format or granting observer status. He justified the initiative in Russia's historical ties with the Turkish world and in the mutual benefit to the association's participants. Vestnik Caucasus.
