Baku confirmed in Moscow its willingness to remain a reliable gas supplier Azerbaijan remains committed to a reliable supply of natural gas, Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov said on October 26 at the 28th ministerial meeting of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum in Moscow. According to him, the importance of gas in the global energy supply is increasing, and meeting demand and protecting the interests of producers remain the priorities of Baku's energy policy. The participants of the meeting discussed the sustainability of the gas market, long-term investments and joint projects - from production to transportation and processing. One of the main topics was the risks to the global supply. Russian Energy Minister Sergei Tsibilev said at the meeting that the crisis in the Strait of Hormuz disrupted the supply of about 20% of the world's LNG. According to him, the tensions in the Middle East led to an increase in prices and complicated the implementation of companies' long-term investment plans. The ministerial meeting precedes the eighth summit of heads of state and government of the countries participating in the GECF, scheduled in Moscow on October 27. His agenda includes energy security, the stability of the gas market and the development of technological cooperation. Vestnik Caucasus.
