The former head of the central bank of Paraguay, Carlos Carvalho, was placed under preliminary arrest for 15 days. This was reported by the National newspaper.
He is involved in the case of the collapse of the Uano digital bank, whose services were used by about three million people.
In the past the bank was closed due to the loss of solvency. Customers lost access to accounts and savings, and then mass protests began in the country. Against the backdrop of the scandal, President Santiago Pena resigned, after which he too was taken into custody.
