November 7, 1987 marked the 70th anniversary of the October Revolution. In the Soviet Union, large-scale preparations were made for the anniversary: new metro stations were opened in Leningrad and Kiev, keys to apartments were handed out and the streets were decorated for festive demonstrations. The anniversary was also celebrated outside the Soviet Union - in Vietnam and among Italian communists on the island of Capri. How the anniversary was celebrated and what the October Revolution means for different generations - in a report from the archives of the State Television and Radio Fund.
