The Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs protested to the Russian ambassador in Tokyo regarding the decision to transfer the Russian assets of Japan Tobacco International (JTI) to the temporary management of an industrial property company. This was reported by the Kyodo agency. The Japanese side demanded to cancel the decision. Earlier, Japanese Finance Minister Satsuki Katayama said that Tokyo had already sent a protest to Moscow through diplomatic channels.
