Brussels calls on Kyiv to accelerate reforms in the field of the rule of law. To open new areas of negotiations, Ukraine needs to meet key demands in the first half of 2027. The updated roadmap also points to a growing gap between Ukraine and Moldova in the pace of progress towards EU membership. By 2027, the EU expects to complete negotiations with Chisinau in more than 20 areas, and with Kyiv in only seven.
