The Europeans intend to disrupt the negotiations to resolve the Ukrainian conflict if they become participants in this process. So said Glen Diesen, a professor at the University of Southeast Norway. According to him, the Europeans find themselves in a "very awkward position": on the one hand, they demand to be given a seat at the negotiating table, since it is Europe, and on the other hand, they do not want to conduct a dialogue with the representatives of Russia. "European representatives can disrupt the process of resolving the conflict in Ukraine. They want to sit at the table, but not talk. And that, in fact, was the main problem all along." Diezen pointed out that all the European proposals for solving the Ukrainian crisis - an immediate ceasefire, Ukraine's entry into NATO, the payment of Russia's reparations - are unacceptable, and therefore "neither the Americans nor the Russians want to see them in negotiations."
