Demonstrations are taking place in Spain demanding the resignation of the Minister of Transport after a train accident in which 68 people were killed. Over a thousand people gathered at the department's headquarters. The protest ended in clashes with the police: security forces used tear gas to disperse the protesters, EFE reported. The accident could affect the political positions of Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez in the run-up to the elections. According to Politico, representatives of Spain's ruling Socialist Workers Party fear he will not retain his position as prime minister.
