The application can be submitted online, without visiting the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Migration Service of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs reported. The department stated that the new function is necessary so that a citizen can immediately notify the office of the loss of a document. This reduces the risk of personal information falling into the hands of fraudsters. The service period is one day. A submitted request cannot be withdrawn. If the passport is found, it will still be declared invalid. To receive a new document, a separate application will be required. The new service is only for internal Russian passports. This does not apply to international passports.
