A suspect in the arson of a house in Karagopol, in which five people were killed, was arrested in the Arkhangelsk region. According to the investigators, on the night of October 28, the suspect, while drunk on the landing of the second floor of the house, out of personal hostility towards a 61-year-old acquaintance and his family members, threw a burning cigarette butt into the crack of the closet door. He realized that there were other residents in the apartments at night and fled the crime scene. As a result, five people died, the rest managed to escape from the burning house. The building was completely destroyed in the fire, the RF IC noted. The man partially pleaded guilty. The investigation will request his arrest.
