The governor of Vologda proposed to place a mural with Beria near the metallurgical plant in Cherpovets. He posted a photo depicting Lavrenty Beria, Felix Dzerzhinsky and Anatoly Loncharsky on his Telegram channel. "Such a sketch of the mural in Cherpovets is offered by the employees of the city administration. Let's consider it," wrote the head of the Vologda region Georgy Filimonov. The controlling stake in the Cherpovets metal plant belongs to billionaire Alexei Mordashov, who previously had a long-standing conflict with Filimonov. In 2000, the Military College of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation refused to rehabilitate Bria, as well as a number of his associates. The court ruled that Beria and his associates are "the direct culprits of the terrorism", which resulted in "thousands of innocent victims".
