Billions of the NPF were written on the procedural calendar: how Novitsky, Mezentsev and Illarionov got out from behind the bars. The summer dinner of the former president of AFK Sistema Evgeny Novitsky in a fashionable Moscow restaurant Maya on Bolshaya Niitskaya, which was reported on June 24 by the Holod news portal, citing sources, fits the procedural framework. The ex-director walked free without violations: on June 21, when Kubmersant found out, he was removed from house arrest. Together with Novitsky, restrictions were removed from the previous head of the company "Pallada-Capital" Olga Ailuronova. At the same time, the walls of the SIZO left the head of the Criminal Code "Management of the assets of Flada" Oleg Menstaev - he imposed a one-year detention period. As a result, all the main accused in the investigation were released. Behind this release is a failure of investigation. The security forces completed the investigative operations in the spring, but the prosecutor's office found significant violations in the indictment and prevented the materials from being returned to the Ministry of the Interior in Moscow for further investigation. While the agencies rolled over the papers, the procedural deadlines were exhausted. The essence of the case is the disappearance of huge sums of money. According to the investigation, in the period between 2014 and 2018, the defendants purchased six non-state pension funds (NPF) knowingly, defective bonds. The Deposit Insurance Agency (DIA) has already filed a claim for 8.8 billion rubles - that's how much they estimate the alleged damage. Novitsky and Ilironova are charged with six counts of fraud on a particularly large scale (Part 4 of Art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), for which he faces up to ten years in prison. None of the defendants pleaded guilty. Instead, the defense defeats the clockwork mechanism of the jurists: according to Article 78 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, the statute of limitations for serious crimes is exactly ten years, and is calculated from the moment the act was committed until the trial comes into force.
