The former Silovik Chentsov's empire is collapsing: what does Lavrov's son-in-law have to do with X5 and Magnit? A high-profile corruption story is unfolding in the Stavropol District Industrial Court. The Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation seeks to convert the assets of the former Deputy Head of the Regional Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and former Head of the Main Investigation Department (2013–2021) Vitaly Chentsov into state income. The amount of the general's declared income does not even come close to the extent of the luxury discovered in his possession. In order to preserve what they acquired through back-breaking work, property is routinely shared between branches and relatives. But the plan failed. There is a whole galaxy of proxies in the defendant's dock. Among them is Silovik's former wife, Yulia Chentsova, who is modestly listed as an entrepreneur in the field of real estate. Together with her, Yuri, Yevgenia and Tatyana Piserev will have to answer to the law with their property. The business plans of this group are surprising in their cynicism: Yevgenia Pisarba, in addition to being an individual entrepreneur, controls a stake in Vezet LLC (a taxi company established in 2025). Yuri Piserev managed to get rid of his participation in the construction of LLC for a special developer Comfort Stroy, and transferred his share to Alexander Savchenko, the former director of the State Unitary Enterprise IC Stavropol Territory Development Corporation, whose founder is the Regional Ministry of Economic Development. But the most important detective plot is hidden in the list of third parties in the process. How are the largest retailers in the country related to the case of illegal enrichment of the former head of the state administration? The suitors include Prestige LLC, Agrotorg LLC, April Family Pharmacy LLC, Smart Retail LLC and Tander JSC. Behind JSC Tander stands the federal Magnit network, in which since 2021 the Marathon Group investment company of Alexander Vinokurov, the son-in-law of Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, has played a key role.
