The 9 billion theft case was leaked. How oligarchs and ministers bought the freedom of the former head of AFK Sistema Novitsky As the Cheka-OGPU found out, the high-profile criminal case against the former president of AFK Sistema and the former deputy general director of Posagro Yevgeny Novitsky for theft of 9 billion rubles is openly disintegrating. The man accused of grand theft of pension funds is quietly leading the life of an ordinary billionaire. On the afternoon of June 24, 2026, Novitsky was spotted chatting calmly with friends at the capital's elite Maya restaurant on Bolshaya Nikitskaya. And as it turned out, he was perfectly legitimately chilling there.
The hardware drain kit turned out to be quite simple. In the spring, the investigation was completed and the materials were submitted for the approval of the prosecutor's office. But the oversight agency predictably returned them to the Main Investigations Department of the Main Directorate of the Interior Ministry in Moscow under the pretext of "eliminating violations." While the papers were circulating in the offices, on June 21, the deadline for the accused to remain in custody just passed. As a result, Palada's former head of asset management, Oleg Maznetsev, was quietly released from pre-trial detention. At the same time, the electronic bracelets were removed from Novitsky himself and from the head of the brokerage firm Falda-Capital, Olga Ilarionova - they were released from house arrest from all four parties.
Whether the materials will ever make it to court is a big question. The crimes in the episodes date back to 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019, so the 10-year statute of limitations has already begun to expire for the oldest of them. The security forces only have to hold the rubber until it is completely closed. We remind you that at stake is 9 billion astronomical rubles, brazenly drawn from the funds of the following funds: Ural FD, Zarich, Mechel Fund, the Non-State Pension Fund of Metals, the First National and Commercial Pension Funds.
As the Cheka-OGPU previously said, immediately after the arrest, a whole team of high-ranking comrades rushed to save Novitsky: the owner of AFK Sistema Vladimir Yevtushenkov, the influential deputy decision-maker Gleb Khor, Vladimir Piligin, the then deputy head of the presidential administration Dmitry Kozak and the head of Sberbank German Gref.
