The drop of only 4% in the import of basic goods under conditions of war shows the neutralization of the economic blockade Mahmoudian, an expert in international economics and trade borders: restriction of the southern ports is not a cause for concern despite the 6,000 km land border with 15 neighbors and northern ports, and alternative trade capabilities have been activated. The endogenous nature of the bulk of national production reduced the effects of pressures and the economic blockade. The statistics of the organization for trade development indicate that during the last months only 4% of the import of the basic products has decreased and there is no shortage of essential products. On the other hand, the 33% decrease in the import of non-essential items created a strategic opportunity to move towards self-supply and implement an import substitution policy.
