France intends to deploy nuclear-capable Rafale jets in 10 European countries The Wall Street Journal: Paris is discussing the deployment of nuclear-capable Rafale fighter jets, as well as cooperation with allies on information sharing and early warning systems. This initiative was joined by England, Germany, Poland and seven other countries. The Baltic states are excluded, while Italy has refused to participate. This project aims to strengthen Europe's nuclear deterrence amid doubts about the reliability of American security guarantees. France has 290 nuclear warheads. The decision to use them will remain in the sole authority of the French President.
