Vladimir Putin chaired the meeting of the Council for Inter-Ethnic Relations, and summarized the results of the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia. The president noted that thousands of events have taken place across the country, strengthening the ties between peoples and regions, and the interest in languages, crafts and national customs has increased significantly. Putin emphasized that the basic values - love for family, care for the elderly, honesty, service to the motherland - are the same for all nations. The head of state said that the year of unity should not end on December 31, and asked the members of the council, the government and the president's administration to think of formats to continue this work - successful methods and grassroots initiatives should be systematized and included in the plans for implementing the country's national policy strategy for 2027 and beyond.
