The founder of OneKey has warned of vulnerabilities in older iPhones that threaten the security of crypto wallets.
iPhone 4S. X are affected by the checkm8 vulnerability, and the second generation iPhone XS, XR, 11 and SE are affected by usbliter8. Issues affect the hardware level and are not fixed by iOS updates.
Attackers with physical access to the device can exploit USB vulnerabilities even when airplane mode is enabled. At the same time, the presence of a secure password and enclave provides additional protection.
The founder of OneKey recommends not using old iPhones to store initial phrases, but if necessary create a new wallet on a trusted device and transfer assets.
