There is no other way to understand the true state of your consciousness, but by forcing it to enter into many and varied interactions, and recording its reactions to them.
We can consider ourselves as advanced or enlightened as we want, we can convince ourselves of this, we can do various "spiritual" exercises, bathe in happiness and light and command angels and demons, but at the same time we can fall into irritability, aggression, fear or depression when interacting with the "ordinary" world.
No refined conditions will help our true self-knowledge, and therefore our true evolution.
Only in an encounter with the world in all its manifestations - in all its cruelty, injustice, with all its pain - can we discover the problems of our consciousness. Therefore, acting under different conditions, only by honestly observing your real actions can you see the real you - after all, only by discovering an illness can you begin the path to healing from it...
