Two oil tankers were damaged and caught fire in the Strait of Hormuz after hitting sea mines, Iran's Mehr news agency reported, citing the Revolutionary Guards.

According to the Revolutionary Guards, the two vessels followed a route not approved by Tehran. One tanker hit a mine in the eastern part of the strait, while the other did so directly in its waters. The Iranian side claimed that the vessels disabled their navigation and identification systems and tried to pass through a restricted area with the support of American forces, after which they hit mines and had to stop.

The Revolutionary Guards also confirmed that the Strait of Hormuz remains closed, stating that the situation will not change until seven conditions previously offered to the United States by Iran are met.
