The Houthis have advanced in fighting across southern Yemen and are now about 80 km from Aden, the center of Yemen's government, Reuters reports.
This is the closest they have come to Eden since 2015.
The progress may allow the Houthis to form a significant part of the government forces in the area of the Bab al-Mandab strait.
