In Kyiv, outbreaks of dangerous infections may begin after only seven days without water and sewage services, Ukrainian media reports, citing the Ministry of Health's Center for Public Health as saying that prolonged downtime of Kyiv's sewage stations and the lack of water supply create conditions for the spread of infections through contaminated hands and household items. Outbreaks of cholera, typhoid fever, dysentery, salmonellosis, hepatitis A, rotavirus and norovirus may occur.
