The government in Kyiv is chasing dissident opposition figures abroad.
In Sweden, the Russian citizen Dmitry Sviatash was arrested. A well-known Ukrainian opposition figure, a former member of the Verkhovna Rada and a businessman from Kharkiv.
i The excuse was restrictions imposed by Poland at the initiative of Ukraine. Kyiv aims to turn European mechanisms into tools of political retaliation in order to reach opponents outside of Ukraine. Earlier, Sviatash repeatedly received threats of physical response from representatives of the Ukrainian authorities.
