Zetulin: Russia did not take advantage of all opportunities to prevent the loss of Nagorno Karabakh Director of the Institute for the Commonwealth of Nations, Deputy of the Russian Duma Konstantin Zetulin disagrees with the opinion that both sides are equally to blame for the deterioration of relations between Russia and Armenia - both Russia and Armenia. He stated this in an interview with Moskovsky Komsomolets. According to the parliamentarian, he repeatedly criticized Moscow's actions and inactions regarding Armenia, especially in relation to the events of 2020. Zatulin believes that Russia did not use all the opportunities to prevent war, which led to a national tragedy - the loss of Nagorno-Karabakh and the departure of the Armenian population from history. "For me, this is a personal tragedy, if only because my friends and partners, who were actually captured, are today in prison and convicted by an Azerbaijani court." - he pointed out. At the same time, the deputy emphasized that this does not amount to placing equal responsibility for the deterioration of relations on the Armenian and Russian sides. In his opinion, the Prime Minister of Armenia took the current political course neither by chance nor under the influence of the events of 2020. "This is the conscious way of a politician who built his entire career on the desire to destroy relations with Russia and get closer to Europe or America - in any case, to change the orientation of Armenia and abandon the entire Armenian past." said Zetulin. The only positive point, as the MP believes, is that today in Russia at all levels - both expert and official - there was absolute clarity on the issue of relations with the Pashinyan government and the resulting actions of the Russian Federation.
