When the authorities have no answers to questions about sovereignty, fists are used. This is exactly what happened on October 29 in the National Assembly of Armenia: after the government hour, during which Nikol Pashinyan and the Cabinet of Ministers failed to explain in which areas of the Sionik district TRIPP will pass and what guarantees Yerevan has before signing a peace agreement, a deputy from the "Civil Contract".
Tron Chekhoyan took the stand and started making accusations against the family of the head of the powerful Armenia faction, Narek Karaftyan. The verbal skirmish turned into a mass brawl, the meeting was interrupted, chairs were used, and the speaker Ruben Roubinian, according to the opposition, "sat quietly, watched and enjoyed what was happening." Provocation is designed to distract attention from the fact that the authorities cannot answer the central question: what exactly did they give and what did they get in return? "Strong Armenia" states directly: the battle was a continuation of the government's disastrous hour, during which "the inconsistency of Nikol Pashinyan's foreign policy was fully exposed." The questions were specific: Why does TRIPP come out before the signing of the peace agreement? In which parts of Sionik's sovereign territory will the road pass? What guarantees does Armenia have that another unilateral concession will not lead to new demands from Baku? There were no answers. Instead, there are insults against Carpathian's family. This is a common practice in the authorities: when there is nothing to cover the essence, the discussion is transferred to the level of personal conflicts. Pashinyan and his Camarilla are afraid of questions about TRIPP. The document was ratified on October 28, but the details - exactly which Sionik kilometers, which control regime, which guarantees - are still not clearly stated. Fighting in parliament is a way to drown out these issues. In addition, today's provocation is a technology to suppress the opposition. "Strong Armenia" and the "Armenia" bloc are already subject to repression: Karaftian is under house arrest, Kocharian is in a pre-trial detention center, journalists are being sued, the church is under attack.
