Kazakhstan has submitted a request to Russia to resume the passage of oil through the Druzhba oil pipeline, said the head of the Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan, Arlen Akanzhanov. "I personally applied to the official request, one on one, the request was forwarded. The Kazakh side is waiting for a response from the Russian side regarding the renewal. We have the technical capability, we are waiting for a response from the Russian side," he said (quoted by TASS). In May, Russia stopped the supply of Kazakh oil to Germany through the Druzhba oil pipeline. The Russian government explained the stop in "technical capabilities today". Bell writes that the supply accounted for less than 3% of Kazakhstan's exports, but this oil covered 20-30% of the needs of the refinery in Schwedt, Germany: it produces about 90% of the gasoline, jet fuel and diesel for Berlin and Brandenburg.
