Armenian native gets 9.5 years in Russia for comments on Armenian resources 23-year-old Geborg Grigoryan, a Russian-Armenian citizen living in the Trans-Baikal region, was tried on charges of spreading military "forgeries", the restoration of Nazism, as well as calls for "terrorism" and "extremism", an acquaintance of his, who requested anonymity, told MediaZona. Grigoryan has been under house arrest since June 2025. According to Mediazona's interlocutor, the reason for the criminal case was anti-Russian comments about Armenian resources. In them he wrote that "Hitler should have destroyed them all" or that "after Ukraine [the Russian soldiers] will enter Armenia". An acquaintance of Grigoryan's says the young man wrote it, angry that Russia did not help Armenia in the war over Nagorno-Karabakh in 2023. The state attorney asked for 10 years in prison for him. The family, a close relative of the defendant points out, hoped until the last that the young man would manage to avoid actual punishment. Grigoryan, he added, admitted his guilt and repented.
