Zichron prepared a report dedicated to the "return of the names" event in memory of the victims of political oppression. The report says that from 2022 to 2026, at least 69 people died in custody, during searches, under house arrest or shortly after release - 63 men and six women. The youngest dead prisoners were 18-year-old Ukrainians Daniil Dakhov and Pavel Grimak. The oldest deceased is Valery Mitko, he died at the age of 81. The report states that at least 29 people died of medical causes - due to illness and lack of medical treatment, at least 20 - from beatings, torture or their consequences, ten apparently committed suicide. Human rights activists report that one person died as a result of a protest hunger strike, and one was deliberately killed in the settlement - we are talking about Alexei Navalny.
