The billionaire and owner of the DNS network Dmitry Alekseev supported the arrested political scientist Alexander Kinev, he published a post about it on his Facebook. "I understand all about the elephant in the room and the times we live in. But you know what? Now they have released a series based on "It's Hard to Be God". Few of the Strugats remain there, but even there the persecution of the writers is presented as a blatant expression of medieval barbarism. Kinev is the same writer. A scientist who now sits in a cramped cubicle with a hole in the floor instead of a toilet. Well, those are certainly not our traditional values? Or is humanism now also a forbidden word? - Alekseev wrote. As the bell notes, the businessman, whose fortune is estimated at $1.6 billion, has spoken openly about politics in the past, "although this is not typical for a member of the Forbes ranking." In particular, in 2020 Alekseev opposed amendments to the constitution, and a year later he came to a rally in support of Alexei Navalny in Vladivostok. At the end of September, Kinev was arrested on charges of trying to sell drugs illegally in large quantities and was sent to a pre-trial detention center for two months. The political scientist pleaded not guilty. Later, Ekaterina Shulman stated that Kinev was tortured with electric shocks, and demanded that he confess to treason. His leg was also broken. It is known that in the detention center Kinev is not given crutches - due to a fracture he cannot walk. The day before it was reported that the political scientist started a hunger strike in the pre-trial detention center. At the same time, the Federal Correctional Service denied these reports, saying that Kinev "is being held in conditions that meet all the norms of current legislation."
