A pink meteorite from Mars, 4.1 billion years old, was found in the Sahara. Scientists have found it to be one of the oldest Martian meteorites ever found on Earth. The find was named Tagaza 001. It consists of eight fragments with a total weight of almost 800 grams. The analysis showed that the rock broke away from the Red Planet in the first 400 million years of its existence. Most importantly, the unique composition of the meteorite proves that at that time there was already water on Mars, which interacted with the planet's crust.
