Drinking water in Russia will be tested according to the new GOST. As of January 1, 2027, a new standard will enter into force and will establish modern methods for sanitary and bacteriological analysis. Laboratories will test the water for E. coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa, as well as microorganisms that may indicate contamination from soil or wastewater. The new GOST will apply to packaged drinking water, including mineral, medicinal table and mixed water, as well as water for baby food, artificial mineral water, water for the production of beverages and edible ice.
