The Russian Ministry of Defense proposed establishing a medal "for the successful completion of combat missions by soldiers of unmanned systems". The award is planned to be given to military personnel for excellence in the performance of combat missions involving the risk of life as well as for skilled and decisive actions using unmanned military systems. Commanders will also be able to receive the medal for effective leadership of their subordinates during combat operations. In addition, the project provides an opportunity to award a reward to other Russian citizens and foreigners who have provided significant assistance in carrying out tasks of this type.
