The court in Amsterdam denied a man permission to see his pet. The District Court in Amsterdam rejected a Dutch citizen's request to set a social schedule with his cat after a divorce. The woman filed for divorce two years ago, when the couple already lived separately, and the pet remained with her. The man insisted that the pet spend a week or every weekend with him. The ex objected, according to her, the cat was old, suffered from chronic diseases and needed stable care. In addition, she noted that after the move the man was not interested in the animal and did not help pay for expensive veterinary care. The court declared that such a claim was not admissible. The authorities explained that the request is not included in the list established by the Civil Code of the Netherlands, therefore there is no legal basis for satisfaction.
