Road repairs in Estonia have been delayed for a year due to a shortage of asphalt. Problems with the supply of bitumen have led to the fact that during the coming year the state does not plan to build new roads or renew old roads. The Swedish supplier suddenly stopped deliveries, and the Lithuanian company first sharply raised prices and then shut down the plant due to equipment failure. As a result, Estonian plants may lose raw materials for asphalt production. This was announced by the Deputy Mayor of Tallinn, Kristian Jarvan. The capital has already had to abandon several road repair projects planned for the winter. The authorities fear that the streets will be dug up and the pavement will not be restored.
