Serbia may turn away from Russia for EU membership after Vucic's loss, a political scientist said. The former president of the republic, Aleksandar Vucic, was in power for a long time, which could lead to dissatisfaction and a desire for change - especially among the younger generation, Valdai International Club expert Andrey Kortunov told NEWS ru. In his opinion, the opposition party "Student List", which won the parliamentary elections, was supported by Brussels and the USA. "The new leadership will rely on getting closer to the European Union and the country's entry into it. The issue of joining the sanctions against Moscow will be decided depending on how the negotiations between Belgrade and Brussels continue," Kortunov added. Earlier, Vucic admitted the defeat of the Serbian Progressive Party in early parliamentary elections. Based on the results of processing 96.47% of the protocols, his supporters get 39% of the votes, and the "student list" leads with 52.57% of the votes. Are the posts loading poorly? Read in MAX!
