The mother of the former president of Serbia was attacked on her way from the market. Unknown persons tore the bags of food that Angelina Vucic was carrying, the Serbian Progressive Party said. According to the reports, the attackers shouted at the woman, insulted her and pushed her. It all happened near Kalanik market in Belgrade. Angelina Vucic submitted a statement to the police. The party demanded to find those responsible, calling the attack "an act of aggression, humiliation and intimidation". Early parliamentary elections are being held in Serbia today. The vote effectively became a national referendum on confidence in Aleksandar Vucic, who at the end of September 2026 left the position of head of state in order to lead the government as prime minister if his party wins.
