Scandal with the selection for the Miss Universe competition: closed casting and a strange choice - for the first time, neither the winner nor even the winner of the Miss Russia award comes from Russia.
The Miss Universe 2026 pageant will be held on November 24, 2026 in Puerto Rico. For the first time, Russia will be represented in this competition by a non-current winner (and not even a runner-up) in the Miss Russia competition. 21-year-old Alexandra Stashkiewicz is going to the Miss Universe pageant 75 years. The girl won the final of the top 10 in the Miss Russia 2023 competition.
As expected, some beauties were offended. First runner-up Anna Lesniak said on social media that the selection for Miss Universe was closed. The organizers of Miss Russia chose themselves and chose from the 10 brightest participants of recent years. Why not the runner-up of the previous years is not clear.
In a conversation with KP, the participants put forward their version - only Sasha, in addition to beauty, has a valid American visa, and the organizers forgot that they should take care of the American visa in advance. As a result, our country will be represented by a smart and beautiful woman from Tyumen. Alexandra says that she herself was surprised by the jury's choice.
