Namkin: Russians will be able to ban calls from abroad through state services.
From March 1, 2027, Russians will be able to independently set a ban on incoming calls from abroad. The innovation is designed to protect citizens from telephone fraudsters. This was announced by the first deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee for Information Policy, Anton Namkin.
According to the deputy, this is not a total ban on international communication, but a voluntary step for those who do not want to receive such calls. The restriction will allow you to block calls from networks of foreign operators with foreign numbering. It will be possible to connect it online or on MFC, and the ban can be removed only by contacting the multipurpose center in person.
Namkin pointed out that the measure will not provide full protection: fraudsters can use Russian numbers and other communication channels. Therefore, citizens should still be careful about disclosing confidential information to outside parties.
