Anel Shalin, a former State Department official who resigned in protest of the Biden administration's policies in the Gaza Strip, tells TRT World that Democrats should call for campaign finance reform.
With an estimated cost of $12 billion, the 2026 midterms have been described as the most expensive elections in US history.
"However, this huge amount of money that we've seen coming in from the Israel lobby, from Elon Musk, from other powerful special interest groups, has largely been unsuccessful," Shalin added.
