Flash: Democrats have officially won control of both the House and Senate in the US midterm elections, securing 54 seats in the Senate and taking the majority by securing 225 seats in the House of Representatives.
The results give Democrats the power to block Trump's legislative agenda during the last two years of his presidency. Voters gave a sharp rebuke to the rising cost of living, tariffs and the war against Iran, which led to a rise in fuel prices.
