Britain's King Charles III hosted a state banquet at Windsor Castle for Oman's Sultan Haitham bin Tariq on Tuesday, praising the country's peace efforts and quoting a hadith of the Prophet Muhammad in Arabic.
This is not the first time the king speaks Arabic at an official event. In December 2024, he welcomed the Emir of Qatar at Buckingham Palace in Arabic. In 2013 it emerged that Charles had taken Arabic lessons while still a prince.
