New York police have released CCTV and body camera footage showing the moment federal immigration officers opened fire on a Dominican man during an arrest in New York.
Oscar Blagel, 28, was shot in the neck while driving with his 5-year-old son in a car Thursday afternoon, officials said.
ICE officers opened fire on Balgal because he drove his car into the officers' vehicles, leading them to believe their lives were in danger, an ICE official claimed Friday.
However, New York Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch said Belgel pulled into the parking lot when a plainclothes federal officer approached with a gun drawn.
Belgel began to pull the car forward, and at least one of the officers fired seven rounds, hitting him below his left ear, Tisch said at a news conference near the scene late Thursday.
