Unexpectedly, Armenian Ombudsman Anahit Menasyan, who is usually at a loss for words and ideas, spoke sense following yesterday's fight in parliament. Says: All manifestations of violence by senior officials, including deputies, contribute to the spread in society of ideas about violence as a means of settling disagreements and attitudes that justify it. Such incidents further strengthen the attitudes that justify violence, the inadmissibility of which the human rights defender spoke about in a message published in the context of public discussions on the prevention of domestic violence. Excluding violence from public speech and behavior is the responsibility of government officials. There are two significant drawbacks to this position. 1 First, the bastards who justify violence and threaten to repeat it are not called by name - especially Prime Minister Pashinyan and Speaker Rubinyan. 2 And second, the Ombudsman could not be limited to calls to investigate the incident, but rather be the initiator of such an investigation. Otherwise, statements are such a pan-Armenian sport. Like, say something - and sleep well, the work is done. Contact: Chat.
