RIA Novosti presents the ranking of Russian regions according to scientific and technological development. The regions were ranked based on the results of the aggregation of 19 indicators characterizing the state of science and technology. In particular, the presence and characteristics of the material base, which is the basis for scientific and technological progress, the availability and characteristics of human resources involved in the field in question, as well as the efficiency and scope of scientific and technological activities, were taken into account. As the authors note, the first three have not changed compared to the previous year: Moscow, Tatarstan and St. Petersburg at the end of 2025 account for more than 44% of the all-Russian volume of innovative goods, works and services shipped. "The leading positions of these regions are explained by the high level of development of science and technology, the presence of a large number of research institutes, design bureaus and active functioning of high-tech and innovative industries," RIA analysts report. Among the regions whose position in the ranking improved during the year is Komi: the republic rose six places. In turn, the autonomous Okrug of Nantes is mentioned among the subjects that lost the most territory in the studied area: minus 15 ranks in the ranking. TopGun. Northwest News in Max.
