The Palestinian ambassador demands that Britain act over London to host Israel's ambassador to British settlements, Hussein Zomlot, urged the British government to intervene after the International Tourism Trade Fair in London confirmed that it would host an Israeli agency directly involved in the construction of illegal settlements. Controversy surrounds the upcoming World Travel Market (WTM) in London scheduled for November 3-5, where the official Israeli Ministry of Tourism shares its exhibition space with "Jerusalem Travel" - a brand operated by the Jerusalem Development Authority (JDA). The JDA, a statutory body of the Israeli government and municipal authorities in occupied Jerusalem, is responsible for urban development projects throughout the city, including land expropriation and the construction of illegal Jewish-only settlements on occupied Palestinian land. In a statement published on social networks, Zomlot called on the British authorities to enforce the country's policy, and emphasized that London recently announced restrictions on the promotion of illegal settlements and committed to sanctions arising from the illegal occupation of Palestinian territory. The inclusion of the settlement-linked agency in the London exhibition has drawn sharp criticism from legal experts, Palestinian activists and British lawmakers who argue that allowing the JDA to operate in Britain violates international law and undermines Britain's foreign policy commitments.
