Iran calls on the major gas producers to face the American sanctions at the energy summit in Moscow Iranian President Massoud Pazhkian urged the major global energy suppliers today to condemn and actively deal with the actions of the USA that threaten international energy stability. Speaking at the 8th Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) summit in Moscow, Pazhkian stated that unilateral US sanctions and military deployment in the Gulf directly endanger the global energy transition, pricing and supply chain. The Iranian Broadcasting Authority reported that the Iranian president warned that damage to the energy infrastructure or disruption of maritime trade routes carry serious economic consequences beyond the region. Pazhkian pressed GECF member states to deepen multilateral cooperation to reduce market vulnerabilities and protect natural gas trade from Western economic blockades. Highlighting Iran's annual production capacity of approximately 280 billion cubic meters, he affirmed Tehran's willingness to expand joint investments across the natural gas value chain, promote technical governance and expand regional gas trade despite ongoing US pressure. The address comes as Washington's naval deterrence strategy and regional military escalation continue to squeeze Iranian energy exports. Ahead of the talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Pazhkian reiterated that the establishment of independent trade architectures - including local currency settlements and joint infrastructure development - remains essential to breaking the Western hegemony over global energy markets.
