Hebron under complete Israeli military siege, over 2,000 Palestinians forcibly displaced Israeli forces have completely sealed off the city of Hebron in the West Bank, putting the municipality into what the local leadership describes as a state of siege. Mayor Yosef Jabari warned that the city had been turned into a disaster zone after Israeli forces closed every access point, and imposed total movement restrictions. The sweeping measures follow a shooting at a checkpoint early in the morning near Paresh al-Hawa, which left two Israeli soldiers dead. Under the pretense of security operations, Israeli forces executed a mass evacuation by force across several residential areas. Over 2,200 Palestinian residents, including families with elderly relatives and young children, were expelled from their homes throughout Deir al-Balah, al-Jalda and the surrounding districts. According to municipal estimates, the military operation directly targets an area of 330 dunams that includes more than 490 residential housing units. Witnesses who reported to Eye of the Middle East described soldiers giving families only five minutes to abandon their properties. Factory owners and local drivers struggled to evacuate industrial equipment and goods before the pending demolitions by Israeli machinery. City officials condemned the total lockdown and the ongoing collective punishment, the establishment of emergency shelters and a crisis line to help displaced families.
