France conducted a test launch of a missile for the development of a new SLBM On the night of November 3-4, the Directorate General of Armaments (DGA) of France successfully launched the SyLEx experimental launch vehicle from a test site in the Bisqueros region (Landes, France). The main purpose of the event was to test technologies designed for the advanced ballistic missile (SLBM) M51.4. Silex is a national experimental launch vehicle developed by the ArianeGroup Corporation (Le Moreau, France) to test promising technologies at high altitude and beyond the atmosphere. Its use makes it possible to test individual elements of a strategic missile weapon without launching standard SLBMs. Earlier, on October 6, the French Navy conducted a test launch of the M51 SLBM. 3 without a nuclear warhead from the nuclear submarine Le Vigilant. The experiment also tested technical solutions for the next modification of the rocket. The promising M51.4 is intended to equip France's operational and development strategic nuclear submarines. Its creation provides an increase in the range and accuracy of hitting targets, as well as an increase in the ability to overcome the enemy's missile defense.
